Unit Description:
Under the direction of the Director of Patient Safety, the Patient Safety Coordinator-RN assists in the functions of and furthers the mission of the department. The focus of the Patient Safety Coordinator-RN's role is direct involvement in improving the quality and safety of care through risk assessment and quality improvement techniques.
Education:
Clinician with a Bachelor's degree in clinical specialty required, RN required. Master's degree in a health care related field desired. In lieu of education, experience will be considered.
Experience:
Must have 5-10 years of clinical experience in a hospital setting, and 3-5 years experience in clinical risk management, quality improvement, or patient safety improvement in a complex healthcare environment. Must have significant experience in data review, manipulation and analysis. Must be a skilled facilitator using quality improvement methodologies to improve patient safety.
