Department Description

We support families through pregnancy, postpartum and the early childhood years until age 6 in families without medical concerns and up to age 18 in families with children who have medical conditions requiring skilled nursing care. Our nurses and family support workers focus on prevention and early intervention, collaborating with numerous community service providers, identifying and addressing developmental challenges and/or psycho-social concerns. We offer individualized self-care and parenting assessment, education and support; childbirth preparation and lactation support; developmental and play support to maximize each family’s physical, social and emotional strengths. We provide skilled nursing services for pregnant/postpartum women with higher risk pregnancies due to medical, psychiatric and/or substance use disorder diagnoses; children up to 18 years of age with a medical diagnosis, including emotional adjustment support to children, their families and their care providers.

This is a 20 hour benefitted position working 3 days per week, Thursdays are required, the two other routine days are determined in conversation to meet your and the program's needs.

Requirements

• Minimum one to two years of directly related obstetrical and child health nursing and human services experience

Requirements:

  • Current RN licensure recognized by the State of Vermont required.
  • Appropriate experience in specific clinical area. Varies by unit.
