Job Summary:
The Director of Nursing provides oversight of daily clinical operations, supporting the highest level of quality care and services. Pursues opportunities for excellence in standards of care and patient safety. Promotes interdisciplinary collaboration, employee engagement and teamwork. Effectively supervises the nursing team and support professional growth and development at all levels. Develops, monitors and adheres to nursing operational and capital budgets. Ensures compliance with applicable state and federal regulatory requirements. Works collaboratively with Porter Medical Center and the University of Vermont Health Network to ensure alignment with nursing practices and organizational strategic initiatives.
Education Required:
- Registered Nurse graduate of an accredited school of nursing
- Active, unrestricted, RN license recognized by The State of Vermont
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing
Experience:
- 3-5 years of progressively responsible clinical and administrative nursing leadership in skilled nursing, post acute rehabilitation, and long-term care.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with focus on person-centered care.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team-based environment.
- Effective oral and written communication skills.
- Knowledge or desire to learn applicable federal and state regulations.
- Demonstrated nursing competency.
- Able to proficiently read, write, and speak the English language.
- Certification in rehab nursing or geriatric nursing preferred.
- Previous experience with EPIC electronic health record preferred.
