Exercise Physiologist

JOB DESCRIPTION 

The Exercise Physiologist demonstrates advanced knowledge pertaining to the design, evaluation, and standards of exercise programs for who patients who qualify or are undergoing cardiac rehabilitation. The Exercise Physiologist will function as an essential member of a multidisciplinary team directing, coordinating, and providing special expertise to staff, patients, and families participating in the Cardiac Rehabilitation Program.

QUALIFICATIONS & JOB REQUIREMENTS

• Master’s Degree in exercise physiology from an accredited school
• Up to one year experience in rehabilitation setting is required.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Effective organizational skills
• Ability to work under pressure and be able to adapt to medical situations
• Ability to stand/walk for up to eight hours/day, bend, stoop, twist, assist patients in turning, assist patient in arising from exam table, push wheelchair patients, and assist patient in arising from and returning to wheelchair
• Knowledge of medical terminology
• Familiar with the principles and practice of cardiac rehabilitation.
• Certification in Advanced Life Support
