This is a bargaining union position.

Per the Collective Bargaining Agreement, current bargaining unit employees have priority consideration for this position if they apply within seven (7) days of the posting date. After this period, all applicants will be considered equally.

GENERAL SUMMARY:

The Rehab Aide performs designated tasks related to the support operations of the Rehabilitation department. Such activities may include setting up treatment areas, maintaining treatment areas, preparing and cleaning equipment, clerical support tasks, general department cleaning and organizing for a safe environment and assisting therapy staff and patients in preparation for treatment. Any skills that are at all related to assisting the therapist and patient require a skill competency and ability to safety perform the selected activity.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education/Skills Required:
1. High school diploma or equivalent.
2. Must demonstrate ability to follow complex directions.
3. Must have the ability to handle multiple tasks or customers simultaneously.
4. Ability to use basic computer skills.
5. Must have the ability to communicate with patients and family members in an empathetic manner in support of rehabilitation goals.
6. Must have the ability to communicate effectively and professionally with Rehab staff and other medical center staff to facilitate safe and effective patient rehabilitation.
7. Candidates with previous experience in a clinical office or rehab setting will be considered first, candidates with previous experience as a Clinical Assistant or Certified Nurse Aide or those that have satisfactorily completed a nurse aide training program or have other relevant clinical experience shall be considered next.

As applicable, the individual has training/competency in attending to the special needs and/or behaviors appropriate to the age of the patients for which care is being provided.
