ALL are welcome to apply, whether you are entry-level with no background in the medical field, or if you are a nursing, health sciences, or related field major!

Our ideal candidates will be reliable, flexible, compassionate and empathetic. Must have a strong sense of teamwork and a focus on providing the best possible care to our patients. Extraordinary time management is a must on our fast-paced inpatient units.

If you are invited for an interview, first round interviews will occur via phone and second round interviews will occur in person at the University of Vermont Medical Center.

We require a 1-year commitment to the unit you are hired on - shifts vary (full-time and part-time).

The salary for a Clinical Patient Safety Attendant is $20.00/hour. 

Job Summary

The Clinical Patient Safety Attendant (CPSA) is responsible for specific aspects of direct patient care and monitoring focused of safety, under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse.

The CPSA commits to providing and maintaining a safe and caring environment for our patients, their families, and our colleagues while promoting physical, emotional, psychological and cognitive wellbeing.  The CPSA fulfills this purpose by:

Upholding a professional and compassionate demeanor

Providing individualized, evidence-based, therapeutic interventions to address specific safety needs

Being an active member of and contributor to the interdisciplinary team

Utilizing safe, timely, effective, equitable, efficient and patient-centered communication

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent required. Minimum of AS degree in health care, mental health or human services related field preferred.

Previous health care experience preferred.

Pro-ACT crisis intervention training preferred
