The University of Vermont Health Network – Home Health & Hospice McClure Miller Respite House (MMRH) is seeking a passionate and experienced leader to join our team. In this position, you'll play a pivotal role in shaping the non-clinical operations of MMRH, ensuring a seamless and supportive environment for both patients and staff.

Summary:

To provide administrative and organizational leadership and support to all non-clinical areas of daily operations of the University of Vermont Health Network – Home Health & Hospice McClure Miller Respite House (MMRH).

Education and Licensure:

Bachelor’s degree in social services, health care or business administration plus 5 years of

experience working in a related field, or a combination of education and experience from which

comparable knowledge and skills are acquired.

Expected Experience/Skills/Attributes:

- Minimum two years of experience in Hospice leadership or a combination of education and

experience from which comparable knowledge and skills are acquired.

- Experience with facility-based healthcare leadership and an understanding of the integration between clinical and non-clinical departments as a key to the high-quality experience of clients and employees.

- Approaches work with a mindset of continuous performance improvement.

- Readiness to interface with the public as a representative of the McClure Miller Respite House, Home Health & Hospice and the Hospice philosophy of care.

- Flexibility in scheduling “in office” hours as demanded by the needs of the facility.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee activities of facility and grounds maintenance by liaising with contracted services providers.
  • Oversee activities of administrative and clerical activities by managing MMRH Team Assistants and clerical assistants.
  • Oversee resident dining services and activities by managing Kitchen Supervisors and Cooks.
  • Liaise with Volunteer Services Coordinators and Hospice Volunteers to support volunteer integration in McClure Miller Respite House operations.
  • Participate in Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement (QAPI) activities on a regularly scheduled and ad-hoc basis.
  • Liaise with leaders in non-clinical and clinical operations across the McClure Miller Respite House and Home Health & Hospice to ensure compliance with all local, state, regional and federal requirements safety requirements including but not limited to:
    • fire and safety regulations, emergency preparedness,
    • family caregiver experience of care,
    • employee engagement,
    • donor experience.
  • Serve as the first point of escalation regarding quality and efficiency of non-clinical operations at the McClure Miller Respite House during and outside of regular business hours.
  • Participate in the education of patients, families and the general public on hospice philosophy of care and the environment of care at the McClure Miller Respite House.
  • Maintain the UVM McClure Miller Respite House nonclinical budget.
  • Other duties as assigned by Hospice Director.

Success Criteria:

  • Facility and grounds are maintained in generally good working condition and in a manner compliant with local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Administrative and clerical activities result in the consistent delivery of a high-quality product or experience during and outside of regular business hours.
  • Resident dining services provide a consistently high-quality nutritional experience for the variety of dietary needs experienced by residents of the McClure Miller Respite House, both during and outside of regular business hours and inclusive of holidays.
  • Activities related to volunteer engagement and satisfaction (for volunteers of the McClure Miller Respite House) such as training and support sessions occur in collaboration with the Volunteer Services Coordinators at least twice annually.
  • Record keeping, survey and audit findings, and other documentation of Quality and Compliance activities is maintained in a consistent and accessible manner and demonstrates a commitment to continuous quality improvement.
  • Records of educational and donor activities are maintained in a consistent and accessible manner.
