GENERAL SUMMARY:
The Licensed Practical Nurse has responsibilities that include intake, processing of patients, simple patient treatment as directed by the professional staff. Under the direction of the OHW RN Coordinator, the LPN is responsible for the coordination of the health care services of injured employees of UVM Health Network-CVPH and contracted community employers. AHA-BLS certification is required however, certification is not a qualifying factor to obtain the position.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education/Skills Required:
1. Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing.
2. Currently licensed as a Licensed Practical Nurse in New York State.
3. AHA-BLS is required within 6 months of hire or a current non-AHA-BLS card will be honored up to date of renewal.
4. Two (2) years previous medical office experience or primary care experience preferred.
5. 1-2 years of medical/surgical experience preferred.
6. Ability to function as an integral part of a team.
7. Excellent telephone skills
8. Good written and verbal communication skills required.
9. Must be detail oriented and organized.
10. Meets requirements of physical/pre-placement screening.
11. Must obtain the following certifications within the identified time frames. CAOHC Certification within 2 years of hire, DOT Breath Alcohol Testing, DOT Drug Screening, Rapid Drug Screening Training and Clinitek Training within 6 months of hire and maintain annual competency.
12. Spirometry, Physical Abilities, and Critical Incident Stress Management (CISM) Certifications preferred.
As applicable, the individual has training/competency in attending to the special needs and/or behaviors appropriate to the age of the patients for which care is being provided.
