SUMMARY
Are you a compassionate and dedicated professional with a passion for supporting those navigating grief and loss? As a Bereavement Coordinator, you will play a crucial role in guiding individuals and families through their bereavement journey while fostering a supportive and caring community.

In this role, you will provide direct support through grief support groups and one-on-one sessions, tailoring your approach to meet unique needs. You will also manage and support a team of volunteers by recruiting, training, and mentoring them to ensure they are prepared to assist those in need. In addition, you will coordinate facilitators, organize educational programs, develop grief-related resources, and lead community outreach initiatives. Your strong communication, listening, and leadership skills will help you succeed as you collaborate with both clinical and non-clinical team members.

EDUCATION

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field (psychology, counseling, human services, social work, or similar) preferred.

EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum two years of relevant experience in grief and loss, family or group activities, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience in a community healthcare setting preferred.

  • Skilled in program development, group facilitation, and volunteer recruitment, training, and mentoring.

  • Strong communication and listening skills; fluent in spoken and written English.

  • Ability to work independently, exercise good judgment, and collaborate effectively with others.

  • Prior experience in formal or informal grief groups desired.
