Activities Director

Under the supervision and/or direction of the Nurse Manager, the Activities Director will provide an organized ongoing program of meaningful activities to the needs and interests of each resident. Qualifications/Job Requirements: Education / Skills Required: NCTRC Certified, or ability to become certified within six months of hire. Associates Degree required, Bachelor’s degree preferred, with at least one year experience. NYS Driver License required; current in CPR preferred and must possess computer skills. Ability to plan, schedule, provide and evaluate activities and recreational therapy to meet individual interest of patients with ability to document each part of the process. Ability to maintain physical, mental and emotional well being of patients using variety of techniques (e.g. arts & crafts, dance, sports, games, animals, relaxation techniques, etc.). Ability to collaborate with healthcare team to develop and implement care plan. Ability to assist with recovery of basic motor function via recreational activities. Ability to complete daily activities, compile reports, and provide staff inservices.
