Surgical Scheduler - Surgical Schedulers

GENERAL SUMMARY:

The Surgical Scheduler works under the direction of the Practice Supervisor to ensure the accurate and timely completion of the duties and responsibilities of the position while complying with HIPAA and CVPH confidentiality policies. They are responsible to ensure excellent customer service to internal and external customers. Regularly use independent judgment to interpret and apply policies, procedures and practices. Duties include coordinating patient appointments, surgeries and/or other procedures, ancillary testing, and acting as an interface between surgeons and patients.

QUALIFICATIONS: 

Education/Skills Required:
1. High School Graduate with or equivalent college coursework in the secretarial or medical sciences preferred.
2. Must have 2+ years’ experience in a clerical setting, preferably in a medical environment.
3. Demonstrated customer service experience, the ability to communicate, and listen effectively.
4. Previous exposure to Microsoft Windows applications such as Outlook, Excel, and Word preferred.
5. Familiarity with medical terminology and insurance pre-authorizations preferred.
6. The ability to multi-task and work with frequent interruptions preferred.
7. Exceptional organizational skills required.
