GENERAL SUMMARY:
Will float between units R3 and R4.
Performs receptionist, clerk and telemetry technician duties in the department. Maintains and organizes paper office, patient care, medical record supplies, and telemetry logs. Transcribes both manually and into the computer patient and unit information. Directs both written and verbal communication to appropriate people. Copies projects for manager. Answers the telephone and call system.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education/Skills Required:
1. High school graduate or equivalent work experience including ability to read, write and comprehend medical terminology.
2. Previous experience in clerical or receptionist position desired; hospital experience or satisfactory completion of training program preferred.
3. Candidates who have taken and passed the cardiac rhythm interpretation test will be considered first.
4. Must successfully complete the hospital’s cardiac rhythm interpretation course/test when the first class is available after date of hire. Must be able to respond efficiently by reporting to the RN any arrhythmia and produce an arrhythmia strip after successful completion of the course.
5. Able to perform detailed assignments, work under pressure, and relate to patients, hospital staff, physicians, and visitors.
6. Competent in use of language when communicating via telephone.
7. Able to perform computer skills following appropriate training on hospital information system.
8. Meets requirement for pre-employment screening and physical exam.
