GENERAL SUMMARY:
The Patient Logistics Support Assistant is responsible for assisting direct care givers in various duties associated with Clinical Assistants, Environmental Services, Nutrition Services and Transport. Patient Logistics Support Assistants/Aides provide timely and accurate communication to assist in maintaining a harmonious, team oriented, customer friendly environment. Various tasks associated with non-clinical duties such as room prep, changing linens, ambulation. Distribution of meal trays and feeding, sitting with patients, cleaning patient rooms and bathrooms and transporting patients to and from tests or discharge. AHA-BLS certification is required - however, certification is not a qualifying factor to obtain the position.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education/Skills Required:
1. High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
2. Ability to use basic computer skills required.
3. AHA-BLS certification is required within 6 months of hire or a current non-AHA-BLS card will be honored up to date of renewal.
4. Competency to perform Heimlich Maneuver.
5. Ability to work independently, handle interruptions, take direction and prioritize.
6. Must work well as a team member.
7. Prior experience in a patient setting preferred.
8. A high level of sensitivity, interpersonal skills and effective verbal communication skills required.
9. Ability to read, write and comprehend medical terminology, labels and directions.
10. Ability to do basic math skills for mixing chemicals.
As applicable, the individual has training/competency in attending to the special needs and/or behaviors appropriate to the age of patients for which care is being provided.
