JOB SUMMARY:
The Accred & Reg Affairs Data Manager, assists the UVMHN AVP/ CRO in implementing the UVM Health Network accreditation and regulatory affairs program(s) by i) serving as an organization-wide resource for and authority on issues related to accreditation and regulatory affairs, ii) management of data; (iii) keeping current on all applicable legal and regulatory requirements; (iv) reviewing and developing departmental and organizational policies that promote compliance with all applicable legal and regulatory requirements; and (v) engaging in special investigations in response to external requests for records and audits. This role functions as a system advisor for the Document Management System for the Network Policy System and the UVMHN Regulatory Cornerstone Health Network Mandatory regulated content and as such is key in development/review of applicable policies, procedures and content.
Under the leadership of the AVP, the incumbent is directly involved in the management of data that serves to improve the quality and safety within the regulatory readiness domain through data set design and analysis, risk assessment and highlighting areas of non-compliance/ non-conformity. The incumbent connects data to national, state and specialty standards to identify areas of nonconformity as well as excellence. Proactively supports accreditation, regulatory, certification requirements including processes and improvement activities. In addition, uses risk matrix prioritization to inform organization wide resource allocation in regard to the regulatory affairs domain. Communicates updates and changes in quality measures and Metrix.
Using the Regulatory platforms, in collaboration with the Data Management Office (DMO) designs network data collection formats, builds accompanying dashboards and displays. The Analyst analyzes, displays, and monitors data. The analyst analyzes current and proposed quality / federal/ accreditation transmissions to determine potential University of Vermont Health Network impact.
EDUCATION:
Clinician with a Bachelor’s degree in clinical specialty required, Master’s degree in a health care related field required.
EXPERIENCE:
Must have 5-10 years of clinical experience in a hospital setting, and 3-5 years' experience in clinical risk management, quality improvement, or regulatory affairs in a complex health care environment. Must have significant experience in data review, manipulation and analysis. Must be facile with excel and with statistical design models. Must be a skilled facilitator using quality improvement methodologies.
