JOB DESCRIPTION:
Microbiology Prep Technicians receive, triage, and accession Microbiology specimens and prepare supplies for microbiological testing procedures. Specimen descriptions are recorded and the appropriate media combination, collection vial/preservative/transport tube are inoculated, using sterile techniques. QC and stains are set up for evaluation. Moderately complex testing is performed and resulted. Maintain and review appropriate inventory levels.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
Two years of college with an emphasis in science OR two years of appropriate laboratory experience.
SHIFT INFORMTION:
The shift for this position is 7:00am to 3:30pm. The weekend requirement is every other weekend.
