GENERAL SUMMARY:


The Interventional Senior Physician Assistant/Senior Nurse Practitioner intervenes under the clinical supervision of the Medical Director of Interventional Radiology and demonstrates competency and efficiency in the care of the Interventional Radiology patient. The Physician Assistant/Nurse Practitioner shall assist and supplement the Interventional Radiology physicians and staff by rounding to assess, diagnose and treat patients as enabled by their training and expertise under supervision and support of the supervising physician. This position demonstrate competency in assessing, diagnosing and treating the Interventional Radiology patient in accordance with delineation of privileges. Demonstrates the ability to organize and prioritize patient care activities. Is able to select and interpret laboratory and diagnostic testing. Communicates medical assessment and plan to patients and Interventional Radiologist and completes medical record documentation in a timely manner.

QUALIFICATIONS:


1.Licensed as a NYS Certified Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner.
2. Three years of clinical experience as a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner required. 3. ACLS required.
4. DEA privileges required.
5. Interventional Radiology experience preferred.
6. RRT license preferred.
