GENERAL SUMMARY: 

The OR/Anesthesia Support Assistant performs various duties, as directed, for the direct and indirect care of the surgical patient and/or patients receiving anesthesia.  They are responsible to provide support and assistance to direct care staff.  The OR/Anesthesia Support Assistant is also responsible for cleaning, stocking, organizing the OR rooms to include the anesthesia areas, scrub rooms, storage areas, break rooms, and outer corridor throughout the day.  They must be reliable, work independently, be highly organized, capable of anticipating where assistance is needed, and work well in the surgical environment.  The OR/Anesthesia Support Assistant is also responsible for the stocking, maintenance and organization of all anesthesia supplies and equipment.

QUALIFICATIONS:  

Education/Skills Required:
1.    High school graduate or G.E.D.  
2.    Previous perioperative services experience will be considered first.
3.    Previous clinical (patient care) experience required.
4.    Ability to anticipate, prioritize, perform, and complete multiple job responsibilities in a timely manner.
5.    Ability to work independently under stressful conditions.
6.    Demonstrates strong organizational skills.
7.    Meets requirements of pre-employment screening and physical.
8.    Excellent attendance record required.
9.    Must be able to take call as scheduled.
10.    AHA-BLS Certification is required within six (6) months of hire or current non-AHA-BLS card will be honored up to date of renewal.
