Medicine Specialty Track/Nurse Residency Program

Description

UVMMC is offering a new Medicine Specialty Track-Nurse Residency Program which is designed to train and support you throughout a 14-week inpatient medicine nursing rotation. This is a great way to start your nursing profession and build a solid clinical foundation with a focus on our medicine patient population. During the 14-week rotation, you will work with teams across 3 different medicine units (Baird 3, Baird 4 and McClure 6), building skills from week to week and unit to unit.

Considerations

• Due to the intensive training and orientation period, we are highlighting up front that vacations and extended time off is discouraged during the program. Every shift during the rotation counts!
• After the 14-week orientation, you will be matched with one of the 3 units to transition into your permanent Staff Nurse position. Matching to a specific unit is not guaranteed, however your preferences will be considered in the matching process. Once matched, an additional 2 weeks of orientation to your permanent unit will occur.

Interview Process

Interviews will take place on Friday, May 30th between 12:30pm-2:00pm. It’s highly preferred to conduct the interview in person (at UVMMC) but we can accommodate a virtual interview if needed.
