Be the First Welcome and Heartfelt Connection: Greeter at McClure Miller Respite House
Part time 20hrs weekly, benefit eligible!
Hours are every Saturday and Sunday 8am to 4:30pm + one weekday evening 5pm to 9pm.
The McClure Miller Respite House, Vermont’s only Medicare-certified inpatient hospice residence, is seeking a warm and compassionate individual to join our dedicated team as a Greeter. Opened in 2016, our beautiful and peaceful 21-room house offers a unique model in healthcare, providing the feeling of home with a large living room, open kitchen, and spacious resident rooms. We seamlessly integrate the latest technology and essential medical and supportive equipment within a design that remains invisible to residents and visitors, fostering a warm and comfortable environment.
We're searching for an extraordinary individual to be the first welcoming presence – our Greeter.
More than just a reception role, you will be the initial touchpoint of kindness and support for everyone who walks through our doors. As an integral member of our dedicated Administrative team, you'll champion outstanding service, creating a positive and reassuring experience for our cherished residents, their loving families, dedicated visitors, passionate staff, vital referral sources, and valued volunteers. Your warmth will set the tone for the compassionate care that defines us.

- Be a Beacon of Welcome: Offer a genuine, empathetic greeting to every individual, instantly making them feel seen, understood, and cared for.
- Navigate with Grace: Provide clear, helpful information and gentle guidance to residents, families, and visitors during moments that matter.
- Orchestrate a Calm & Caring Atmosphere: Ensure the reception area is a tranquil and welcoming space, reflecting the peace of the House itself.
- Connect with Compassion: Answer incoming calls with professionalism and empathy, directing inquiries with thoughtful attention.
- Support Our Mission: Assist the Administrative team with tasks that contribute to the seamless operation of our House and the exceptional care we provide.
- Embody Team Spirit: Collaborate closely and joyfully with all staff and volunteers, fostering a cohesive and supportive community.
What You'll Bring to Our Team:

- A deep-seated desire to provide exceptional service and support to others, especially in a sensitive environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills – you listen as well as you speak.

- While a high school diploma or equivalent is preferred, your genuine passion for our mission is paramount.
- Previous experience (two or more years) in a customer-facing role is highly valued, as it demonstrates your commitment to service.
