JOB DESCRIPTION:

Performs scheduling and coordinates simple and complex patient appointments for respective clinics, both in person and over the telephone using an automated patient scheduling system. Triages patient problems, schedules any related tests and procedures and provides appropriate patient instructions. Ability to communicate in an effective and competent manner to ensure a positive outcome in person or on the phone. Develops collaborative relationships with peers, patients, providers and visitors. Trains new staff and is an advanced scheduling resource for providers and mentor to staff.

The Scheduling Specialist role is divided between two distinct roles: Scheduling Specialist and Onsite Arrival Team Member.  Each role plays a critical part in ensuring our patients receive timely and efficient care.  This opening fulfills the responsibilities outlined below:

Scheduling Specialist

Responsibilities:

• Work to schedule radiology appointments for patients.
• Communicate with patients via phone, email, and other virtual communication methods to coordinate appointment times.
• Ensure accuracy in scheduling to optimize the radiology departments workflow.
• Provide patients with necessary pre-appointment instructions and answer any scheduling questions.

EDUCATION:

Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent.

EXPERIENCE:

3-5 years of experience as a Scheduling Specialist II.
