Job Details
GENERAL SUMMARY:
Assess patients’ conditions, diagnose, order appropriate diagnostic tests, and develop treatment plans in conjunction with the Orthopedic Surgeons to manage a wide range of orthopedic conditions. Provide care in both the clinic and inpatient settings to ensure delivery of high-quality, patient-centered care in alignment with hospital policies and procedures. Participate in quality improvement and infection control activities.
Education & Licensure
PA: Completion of an Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the Physician Assistant (ARC-PA) approved program (prior to January 2001 – Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs). Current certification by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) is required.
Pay range is $62.40-$98.85/hr.
NP: Completion of a master's, post-master's, or doctorate from a nurse practitioner program accredited by the Commission on Collegiate of Nursing Education (CCNE) or the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN). Current certification by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) or an equivalent body is required.
Pay range is $62.40-$98.85/hr.
Current New York State licensure as a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner; prior experience in Orthopedics strongly preferred.
Active or eligible New York State DEA licensure required.
Recent clinical rotation in Orthopedics (within the last year) highly preferred.
Certifications
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
Registered Nurse First Assist (RNFA) certification required
Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification preferred.
Clinical Competencies
Skilled in conducting comprehensive medical histories, assessing medical conditions, and interpreting findings.
Ability to provide patient-centered care with strong knowledge of medical equipment, healthcare regulations, and organizational policies.
Familiarity with OSHA standards and compliance requirements.
Prior experience with Epic EMR highly preferred.
Schedule & On-Call Expectations
Daytime schedule with some weekends as assigned.
On-call requirement: 1 in 6 rotations (shared among APPs).

Willingness and ability to travel to regional and outreach facilities as needed.
