Outpatient Surgical Coordinator

Job Summary: 
The Outpatient Surgical Scheduler is responsible for coordinating and scheduling surgical procedures for orthopedic providers in an outpatient setting. This role ensures all aspects of the surgical scheduling process are handled efficiently and accurately, including pre-operative requirements, prepare insurance authorizations, and communication with patients, providers, and surgical facilities.    

Education/Skills Preferred:  

• High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree or medical office certification preferred.
• Excellent attention to detail, interpersonal skills and organizational skills required.
• Above average written and verbal communication skills required.
• Ability to develop and maintain relationships with staff, patients, and external customers.
• Ability to handle multiple priorities and make appropriate decisions with a minimum amount of supervisory direction required.
• Surgical Scheduling experience is preferred.
• Knowledge of medical practice operations and/or electronic medical records systems preferred.

Experience:  
Minimum of 2 years of experience in a medical office setting, preferably in orthopedics or surgical scheduling.
